David on Pen-y-Fan

Each year around 500 people tackle the Mountain Trail Challenge, held in the Brecon Beacons. The route takes in some of the wildest terrain in Britain, including the summit of Pen-y-Fan, which at 886m (2907 feet) is the highest mountain in that part of Wales. Participants can choose between routes of 20 and 30 miles.

The 2011 event took place in mid-September, and David was among those who took part, following the longer route and raising money for the Alzheimers Society in memory of our mother, who died earlier in the year.

I'm not sure who took the photo (not me!), but it proves that he reached the highest point.
