Whisby
Nature Park
Created out of old gravel pits, Whisby Nature Park near Lincoln is now
a peaceful reserve with a variety of habitats: mostly lakes and
woodland, but also smaller areas of heath and meadow, so there's quite
a lot of wildlife to be seen. The Natural World Centre, next to the
main car park, has information about the park, as well as displays on
environmental issues, a gift shop and a coffee shop.
This is a view over Willow Lake, looking towards Lincoln. The
cathedral can just be made out on the horizon, a little to the
right of the middle.
